The future of our industry depends on educating and developing the skills and talents of our workforce and in addition offering training to those people and organisations that tow and manage trailers, caravans, horse boxes and mobile plant.

Our national training scheme addresses these industry needs with a complete package of related courses. They provide a versatile tool for training and assessing people at all levels. The courses cover, Trailer Servicing & Maintenance, Foundation in Towbar Fitting, Towbar Fitting & Towbar Electrics with special attention given to the latest vehicle CANbus (Computer Area Network) electrical systems and Towing Law.

The learning materials the courses deliver are realistic, effective and specifically designed for practical on-the-job training. Dealing with daily issues that provide discussion and relevant problem solving forums. The dates and venues of training workshops are published below.

A man was given a suspended prison sentence for unsafe towing of a trailer on the M62 near Huddersfield.

Changes to MoT test April 2012

Changes are being made to the MoT test to increase inspection of towbars and towing electrics
